Why we use Guarana?

Why we use Guarana?

Kahuna Nutrition chooses the natural caffeine source, Guarana, for all our products.

Here’s why...

Caffeine acts the central nervous system, leading to increased alertness, improved mood, and enhanced physical performance. Guarana is a plant native to the Amazon basin, and its seeds are known for their natural caffeine content. While caffeine is the primary active compound in both guarana and traditional sources like coffee, tea, and energy drinks, research has show guarana has certain advantages over caffeine alone. Here are a few reasons why some individuals might prefer guarana:

  • Slow Release of Caffeine: Guarana seeds contain caffeine but in a more complex form than the caffeine found in coffee beans. This complex structure may result in a slower release of caffeine, providing a more gradual and sustained energy boost. Some people find this helps prevent the sudden energy spikes and crashes associated with some other sources of caffeine.
  • Additional Phytochemicals: In addition to caffeine, guarana contains other natural compounds like theobromine and theophylline, which are also found in tea and chocolate. These compounds may have mild stimulant effects and contribute to the overall energy-boosting properties of guarana.
  • Adaptogenic Properties: Some proponents of guarana suggest that it may have adaptogenic properties, helping the body adapt to stress and promoting overall well-being.
  • Reduced Jitters: Some individuals report experiencing fewer jitters or nervousness with guarana compared to other sources of caffeine. The gradual release of caffeine from guarana may contribute to this effect.

Guarana is a great natural source of caffeine providing a heap of other health benefits, it was a no brainer for us to include this in our products over any other caffeine source including the artificial caffeine found in commercial energy drinks
